Fall Gathering ~

My fall  picnic with a twist

continues with…The Table.

Images ~ Stan McMeekin

The twist  is…we’re staying in, for this  fall picnic! Yep,

I’m taking our formal  dining room, down  a few notches and

transforming it into a casual, cozy  indoor picnic scene.

What’s more, I’m ushering in the edge of fall  by

recycling nature & our existing  decor pieces .

So, it all starts with layering. Come fall, we love to layer  on

pieces of our wardrobe, right?

Well, It’s the same thing with

 the table!

Here, I’ve draped runners and throws over

a linen table cloth, in shades of gray, taupe, white and

ticking.  In my  entertaining book…a good picnic, always  includes a little ticking!

I’ve pulled together a nice neutral palette,

that way, nature  and the picnic

fixings,  provide the gorgeous hints of fall color.  Next,

I brought in a mix of stools, throws and mismatched

chairs, playing up, that casual Fall  picnic style.

The decor,  is fall casual too, with

chippy  newel posts,

dripping in Spanish moss, showcasing my

much loved  collection

of

sumptuous

velvet

pumpkins with

real stems  (Thank you Janice! )

I’m lovin’ our vintage  child’s fishing creel too,

especially,  filled with mother nature’s softly hued  sunflowers.

Nothing suggests fall,  to me, more…

than

beautiful…

real…

bits of nature. You know…

nuts &

baby berry bouquets  and things.

You like?

An earthy  bundle of

kindling wood meanwhile,

suggests the warmth  of a

fall fire  and bundles of

 fragrant olive branches,

rosemary and bay, hovering over the table, add

another touch of nature.

Something you won’t  see on this picnic table…

dishes! Instead, I’ve gathered every pizza & cheese board we own,

and I’m using them as

individual serving pieces.

I’ve topped some with

gorgeous fig leaves from our garden,

making for seriously

simple cleanup!

Love.

So that’s a look at the table decor

for this fall  inspired  picnic, with a twist.

I hope you like  it.

A heartfelt thank you to,  Stan McMeekin  of

Solana Productions

for the beautiful  images! And a big

thank you to my sister Carol…for

giving me a much needed hand and a few stems

of rosemary!
