They had me  at the packaging, seriously…Irish oatmeal, steel cut and in a super

bronzy, pretty tin! It’s the REAL  deal and it’s what’s for breakfast!

We’re going old school. Forget the microwave.

It doesn’t cook in an instant  but boy,  it is SO worth the extra few minutes!

AND for me, it’s nostalgic. I can remember my grandmother’s

yummy stovetop porridge  bubbling away in the old pot and her worn wooden spoon…

Old fashioned oatmeal – the very definition of fall warmth.

I followed the super simple Irish oatmeal cooking instructions on the tin. While the oatmeal was

simmering away on the stovetop for 30 minutesI got busy, pulling together an easy tray of tasty toppings.

Brown sugar & a pot-o-cream, my homemade blueberry & quinoa granola for crunch,

earthy  toasted pecans in a vintage French lidded pot {Terrine Brevettee} and pretty pats of

butter…dressed up with sublte, tiny grape leaf impressions.

This is the kind of old fashioned  breakfast that stick to the ribs  and warms your

soul on cool fall #PNW {Pacific Northwest} morning.
