“If the exterior of a house entices, the interior ~ especially the entryway ~ must enthrall.”

First Impressions ~

French blues and browns…playing off of Bluestone columns (Love Bluestone)…set the Holiday

Tone… at our front door (see previous post)…Now….step inside…as the La Famiglia Holiday Home Tour continues….

The Arrangement ~

A grand scale tabletop Holiday floral greets you…

…Long Wintry White Branches…

Beautiful boughs of blue feathery fir…tall stalks of elegant white hydrangea…and cascading bundles of  fragrant eucalyptus (great value & dry perfectly!)…All…casually arranged in a worn stone urn…

In the backdrop…our sideboard holds a grand faux shell…

…Beautiful blue, silver and white Christmas balls….the pearls

A glimmering ornament wreath…with the simple sentiment…‘Belle Etoile’…floats above (love little holiday sentiments!)…a small stone statue…with a crown and a delicate live garland….and an urn…filled with my favorite…Paperwhites...complete the vignette.

The Chandelier ~

As you make your way through the ‘great hall …’

Eucalyptus and carnations are tucked into an ornate chandelier above our

Antique French wine table…with pleated tendrils of brown velvet ribbon…(The Chandelier has a hydraulic lift…)

Here’s a look…

Back…

The Grand Tree ~

Our 12 foot plus real Noble Fir…

Is Noble indeed…

…tucked into the well…of the floating staircase…designed…with our Christmas tree in mind….

Treasured ornaments from our life and travelsFrench blue and cream ribbons…a lush braided rope & tassels…and yes…

…‘There was even…a mouse!’

The Village ~

Our ‘Dickens’ Christmas Village…unfolds across the ‘Baby Grand’… the celebrated author’s works…tucked in among the pieces…to me….

’A Christmas Carol’…is a shining example of the true holiday spirit….

The Mantle ~

The Fireplace room mantle…is understated…with a slight…‘ecclesiastic’ feel…

A real garland…of Box and bundles of eucalyptus

…ornate decorative crosses are woven in…and tucked inside vintage French blue pots.

A sash of Blue satin ribbon…

with a hint of sparkle drapes across…

and an architectural dress form…wears a vintage crown (Santa Monica Flea Market find) and garland…

Nearby…

One of three dovetailed…Burlap banners…we made…hangs from an arched floor mirror…another hint of sparkle…and a holiday ‘Wish’….

The Holiday Home Tour continues with…the kitchen and family room…please check back!

Ciao & Buon Natale,

Monica
