Courtyard Corner
Our entry courtyard received a
wonderful one-day makeover.
The fantastic crew from Jefferson Landscaping provided the
muscle and Jeff, helped me fine-tune my design ideas!
Thank you guys, you are amazing!
I’ll have the before & after post soon but I want to give you a peek at
this little corner of the Courtyard. So fun.
I set out to lighten up the place and give it a French feel.
I started underfoot, with
gorgeous new gravel, a few white washed garden pieces and
edible plantings. But to keep down costs, I needed to reuse & restyle our
existing pieces. As part of the new courtyard design, I envisioned a quiet
corner to sit and read or perhaps enjoy a bite to eat, cup of tea or
a glass of wine! So here it is…
First off, I love the warmth and
crunch of the new gravel.
Such a difference.
It’s so inviting. Our blue-gray French bistro table for two, fits nicely,
a little ‘down & ticking’ for added comfort on
our worn metal chairs.
Ruffles & brioche
give it more French flair, with a
side of raspberries, on one of my Grandmother’s
teacup plates (love) along with
a straw covered glass/pitcher set. (Also love…)
From this perch, you can hear
the soft
trickle of the fountain.
A petite kitchen garden is nearby…
planted in one of my few, fun new finds for the
courtyard: this white washed metal tub,
with
thick rope handles. Really, really like
the look! You?
Added my old carrier into the mix
And our little woven beehive
The corner is edged in
strawberry plants &
soon, the trailing rosemary will tumble over,
the rather
unattractive concrete bulkhead.
And that’s about it, for this little corner…just a peek.
We hope to hang out here
and relax as the weather warms.
That is, until our dogs, ‘Mac & Ava’ come flying through the
courtyard, kicking up gravel, possibly using the
ticking pillows and/or beehive as a chew toy. Oh well.
More of our Courtyard Makeover to come…
Hope to post our night of
‘Chocolat’ soon!
