Shades of Grey ~
(Image ~ My Sweet Savannah)
Still can’t believe our home was featured on the amazing blog,
Melaine’s photography is so beautiful.
Thank you again!
Yesterday’s post included a look
at our little family room
paint project, reveal.
(As you can see, Her photos are much nicer than mine!!!)
Of course, I decided to paint just a few days before
our ‘Girls Night In’ gathering! (No Stress!) I said
goodbye to
our light buff accent walls and
hello to
the more dramatic dark grey…
‘River Rock’ Grey, from Authentic Home.
I picked up a gallon at
Haley’s Cottage. I really like the new look and I
hope you do too.
Here’s how our sconces looked before…
And here’s how they look
now…
a little more dramatic.
Our ornate silver and copper mirror looked okay ‘before’…
hanging against the
buff walls…but now,
the mirror really shines next to the rich
River Rock! More drama!
And best of all…our
large, black, wall mount television has gone from
nearly dominating
the room to…
just kind of … there.
Once the paint dried, I
pulled in a few grey accessories….
cozy
throws
and this fun
grey runner, from
Haley’s Cottage.
An inexpensive grey basket
(Cost Plus) makes a nice side table, especially
topped with
an antique pizza board.
(A la Velvet & Linen style)
Love the worn wood.
I pulled in a few of our
existing pillows and this
lovely pillow…
a pretty gift from Mela,
who attended our ‘Girls Night In’
event! Love the ‘M’….
thank you Mela, so special!
To scent the room…
a little lavender from Trader Joe’s, such a great deal!
Also from Trader Joe’s, these

inexpensive sedum beauties in moss covered containers.
Hello JOE!
That’s about it for our little painting project.
Enough drama
for one day.
Thank you, for all of the kind comments about our home.
Means the world,
Monica
Gorgeous!!!!!!! I must know where you got your little velvet pumpkins and someone was asking if you wouldn’t mind sharing where you got your biscotti sign and crown on your kitchen island?! xoxo
Thank you Melaine! The pumpkins are by the artist, Daria Knowles out of the Portland area. My very creative friend, Janice has sent several to me over the years, in a rainbow of gorgeous colors! http://www.hotskwash.com/ How lucky am I! I posted a link for the card on GNI as well…ALSO from Janice, You would LOVE her!
She ordered it on line, she says it came in brown too…but is currently out of stock. Very cool site! http://www.bellocchio.com/
I think the crown holder came from Haley’s cottage! I’ve e-mailed Cindy! Thank you for the nice comment and for letting me use your beautiful images! Have a wonderful Mother’s Day! And thank you for everything!
xxo Monica
