It’s a cool afternoon coffee pick me up!
Talking about these delicious Coffee, Cocoa and Star Anise
flavored ice cubes.
Let’s head over to my coffee station for the easy how-to.
This small corner of our kitchen gets me going each and every day. It holds
an eclectic mix of coffee cups from Kate (spade) to Ralph (Lauren) to Starbucks
gold dots. I pull together the spiked coffee, cocoa
and star anise flavored ice cubes right here.
The sweet ingredients:
Natural cane sugar cubes
Sweetened natural cocoa powder
Star anise {licorice flavored star shaped pod}
A drop or two of Pernod ~ a licorice flavored liqueur
Pop a few sugar cubes, the cocoa and star anise in a cup, along with
the Pernod. Add hot coffee and whisk. You determine the strength.
{ You can also warm up your morning coffee pot leftovers.}
Next, pour the coffee into chunky ice cube molds and freeze.
Once frozen, add a few cubes to a glass and pour in some milk! Almond milk is
fabulous with these cubes!
Here’s the thing, as the coffee flavored cubes begin to melt, the milk
gloriously thickens…
and at the end of the glass…you are left with a heavenly coffee slush!
Spoon required! I hope you make these!
The flavor combo possibilities are endless!
