With the luscious scent of lavender perfuming the air…
Girls Night In with Monica Hart went on location
at an amethyst gem of a venue…
Woodinville Lavender. The breathtaking farm is
tucked in the heart of Woodinville,Washington wine country.
Yes, it’s all about lavender on this rather intoxicating night,
from the first stunning violet sip…
to the last gooey, salty-sweet lavender laced, s’more bite.
It was so much fun dreaming up this feminine lavender themed event.
And so, with the vivid violet fields as a backdrop…
the night began for the lovely ladies with
refreshing sips of Lavender Dry Soda.
Next came my handmade crackers with pretty pats of
goat cheese, rolled in dried lavender & fresh thyme.
The duo served in elegant, round paper baking molds and on an antique breadboard.
Then it was time for one of my signature cocktails…
the handmade lavender and blackberry martini drop
with tarragon simple syrup!
(I’ll post the recipe soon!)
Each guest received a shaker…of her own.
I garnished the delicious, deep
purple drinks with plump, ripe blackberries on earthy lavender picks.
C’mon, it’s all about the garnish, right?
Cocktails in hand, we strolled through the
soothing fields…soaking up all of the lavender loveliness.
The evening was filled with fresh, lavender inspired entertaining ideas.
With the help of my fabulous crew, I pulled together this lavender and
linen layered tablescape, set up right in the field!
I chose yummy shades of plum, purple and blue. Come check out the dreamy details!
Some of these beautiful table flowers, like the agapanthus,
hydrangea and herbs are homegrown
but the lavender is all from these fields, hand picked by
Tom Frei, the owner, the day before our Girls Night In event.
Talk about fresh!
A quick coat or two of gorgeous Annie Sloan lavender chalk paint, turns my plain old
mason jars into special little lavender hued flower vessels.
The linen covered table also features regal crown plates on loan
from Haley’s Cottage. So pretty!
The feminine white dishware and botanical West Elm place mats set off the
small ribbon bound bundles of
earthy lavender & lavender filled silk sachets.
I called on my sister Linda , to stitch up the silk sleeves. {LOVE}
For a touch of gold glamour, I added fitting ‘bumblebee’ nametags with bits of gold ribbon.
The sachets make fragrant place cards and guest takeaways.
Catch the names?…Pink, Adele…yep, Girls Night In gals are total rock stars!
For the centerpiece, I created this fragrant DIY floral monogram number,
marked with an ‘L’ for lavender, of course!
Please check back soon for the special DIY post!
And check out this fun, entertaining idea…
shapely small vases on ice, (Haley’s Cottage) so guests can top off their
martini drops with the shaker extras! Why waste a delicious lavender drop?
A pretty lavender vignette sits on my small tray table sideboard.
Our old cut glass decanters sparkle in the soft evening light. Love the little lavender braid detail!
Tom opened the Woodinville Lavender store just for us and he shared
lavender growing tips as he gave the gals a tour of his beautiful fields.
While on the walking tour, my guests were served petite caprese and plum skewers with
fresh mint and a drizzle of my honey, clove and lavender infused olive oil vinaigrette.
The gals sipped on chilled, roasted pepper soup too with
a nice kick from gently toasted spices.
For the main course, I served beef tenderloin skewers with Herbs de Provence, hot off the grill.
Then came a delicious duo of desserts: My petite orange and vanilla bean shortcakes, with fresh blueberry mash
and s’mores! We lit the Woodinville Lavender fire pit and we unwrapped my uptown s’more kits.
The All American campfire classic taken to a new level!
The ladies roasted the puffs to their liking, using wispy sticks from our weeping willow.
The evening wrapped up with the glow of tiny lights staked and strung for ambience and
classic tunes from an old school record player.
I send the girls off with pretty, gold rimmed
Girls Night In with Monica Hart shot glasses,
in hopes that the sweet taste of lavender
blackberry martinis and our lavender infused evening…
will linger.
