Raise a glass of Sparkling Lavender Ice Tea to the three-day weekend!
Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and many of you are planning backyard cookouts.
I’ve pulled together a few fun extras to get your Memorial Day Weekend off to a rockin’ start!
So from tabletops to totes with tunes to the little white dress…
here’s what’s on my MDW wish list.
If you’re looking for a pretty little sip this weekend, try my Sparkling Lavender Ice Tea.
The recipe follows but first, the MDW wish list:
1. Bright melamine plates – West Elm 2. Blue glass beverage dispenser – World Market
3. Mod napkin set – West Elm 4. Raffia Tray – West Elm 5. Porcelain hurricanes – West Elm
6. Gold Flatware – West Elm 7. Little White Dress via Lauren Conrad.Com via Pop Sugar
8. Essie glitter nail polish 9. Tote & Tunes – Pottery Barn
(Can you tell I’ve been to West Elm lately?)
And now for the pretty Memorial Day Weekend sips:
I used two Tablespoons of dry lavender from my favorite local lavender farm – Woodinville Lavender.
I added a few sprigs of fresh mint and lemon balm from our kitchen garden.
I brought 6 cups of H20 to a simmer and plopped in the herbs.
Simmer for 5 minutes let sit for another 5, strain and chill.
Make a quick batch of simple syrup: 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water, simmer until it dissolves, cool & chill.
Add ice to the lavender tea, sweeten to taste with the simple syrup and add a splash of bubbly
for the s~p~a~r~k~l~i~n~g effect!
Cheers to the MDW!
I’m building quite a library of your splendid cocktails Monica! Maybe one day you’ll publish your own book?
Cheers to you for a lovely Memorial Day weekend!
