The Color Purple ~
It started with this beautiful
French find. A Parisian
silver cruet, turned
tiny vase…at our
Easter table.
So pretty, filled with
a small nosegay of fragrant purple freesias.
I love the posh silver against the
shabby, French wooden
bottle carrier. Our old style,
champagne glasses seem right at home. But it doesn’t
stop there. Our vintage crystal and the
purple palette inspired this gorgeous palate pleasing
drink concoction. I call it my
Lavender Martini-Drop.
This lavender libation is so fun, especially in
these old school glasses.
It’s an icy mix of quick,
homemade vanilla
vodka, lavender simple syrup and
Parfait Amour. The Parfait amour, is mostly, for it’s lovely
color. It has long been popular in
ladies drinks. This brand is made from Spanish oranges…
How can that be wrong?
With a splash of fresh Meyer lemon juice and a
sprinkling of zest plus, lemon juice and
lavender sugar to
sweeten the rim….well, it’s lavender
heaven in a glass.
If it were summer, I would SO garnish this drink with
a sprig of lavender clipped from our garden wall.

Monica
Monica’s Lavender Martini Drop
Preparation:
1.5 oz vanilla vodka
(I make my own with one vanilla bean…scrape the seeds.
Add seeds and pod to
3 oz. good vodka. (That way you’ll have leftovers…)
Let sit for 15 minutes
and strain…a few seeds will remain…go with it.
One ounce of Parfait Amour…seriously,
look at this color!
A nice splash of fresh lemon juice
1 scant ounce lavender syrup
I make my own. One part superfine sugar to two
parts water…
simmer on stove top until sugar
dissolves. Remove from heat and add one
teaspoon or so of organic lavender .
Let it hang out for a while, then strain.
Add it all to a shaker, filled with ice.
Shake & serve.
Chill the glasses ahead of time if you like.
Don’t forget to use Meyer lemon zest for garnish
and Meyer lemon juice and lavender sugar to coat the rim
Cheers.
WOW!!! I want one! Looks delicious…
