And what’s not to love about lilacs?

The plump purple spires,


heady perfume,

heart-shaped leaves.

In short,

perfection on a stem!

No wonder the May beauty

has been the subject of poetry &

the object of desire of presidents at

Monticello and

Mount Vernon.
