Okay kids, fair notice! Mother’s Day is only
two weeks away!! Sometimes…her special day
has us scrambling for gift and gathering inspo! So from gifts to sips,
here are some pretty,
last minute ideas to help you spoil mom without spending a bundle.
First up a two for one placemat + gift combo that’s pretty as a daisy!
LOVE this inexpensive white magnetic glass dry erase board from
The Container Store! It’s a great two-in-one gift idea!
It’s the perfect size for a placemat plus, you can write mom sweet
notes with the dry erase pen which is included.
{ I picked up some additional colorful pens! }
I decided to pretty up the dry erase board with fresh flowers magnets!
Here’s the easy how-to!
* Pick up some extra magnets
*Dot the magnet with a dab of floral adhesive
{available at your local craft store}
*Pop on a bloom and voilà
BTW the fresh blooms last for hours. You can
pull them off and reuse the magnet – bonus.
To keep the place setting cost DOWN use bright paper plates and napkins
then turn UP the style with pretty gold embellished glassware filled
with a personal MINI bouquet just for mom.
To keep it super fresh and color packed, I did the old vase inside a
vase trick and then lined the glass with slices of fresh lemon.
Speaking of fresh, nothing says F R E S H quite like fresh citrus.
Which brings me to this mouthwatering Mother’s Day Cocktail ~
The Grapefruit Paloma
Ingredients :
1/4th cup fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice
2 natural cane sugar cubes
1/4th cup soda water
1/4th cup tequila {or one mini bottle!}
Method:
Add the freshly squeezed juices to mom’s glass.
Drop in the sugar cubes and top with soda water.
Have mom add the tequila, stir, garnish with fresh
grapefruit slice and serve!
But wait, there is one more fun little idea for mom, this
tea sachet flower pom!
All you need is a sachet, a bloom and a hot glue gun and
you have a Mother’s Day brew that just might be mom’s
cup of tea!
