M~O~M ~
Here are two, sweet
ideas, as you set your
Mother’s Day table.
Striped straw bouquets &
tea, in glassine bags.
You’ve no doubt seen these
darling little straws.
(Check your kitchen & craft stores.)
They come in a rainbow
of pretty colors,
one is sure to fit your
tablescape palette.
And they’re not just for sipping.
You can trim the ends at an angle and
dress them up with simple
ribbon, tucking in
little flowers stems.
They make the perfect, place setting
vase. For these, I used what I had on hand, in
the garden. For a savory & sweet bouquet,
a few stems of lavender, curry and
chives, or go with
a single stem…like Wood Hyacinth, which
is blooming in our garden right now.
So sweet, fun and inexpensive!
Here’s another thrifty idea,
top each place setting with
a buttoned up,
glassine bag and
striped
baker’s twine.
The buttons are carefully,
hot glued in place, like those old school
brown, kraft paper and string envelopes, only
much prettier!
The edges are
rounded with pinking
shears and
I marked it with an ‘M‘ for
M~o~m.
Inside, a Jasmine tea sachet
(wonderfully fragrant)
and a
honey stick.
Tea service ~ for one.
Just a little something thoughtful,
for mom,
this
Mother’s Day,
Monica
