Summer Stripes ~

Around our house, summer decorating
comes in waves. Today, it’s the
family room sideboard bar

getting the
summer treatment. This time of year,
I find myself drawn to the
nautical side.

I fell in love
with this runner &

tea towel collection, with the crisp
navy, white & gold stripes.. found
here.
Bubble glass, says summer to me too…

And I gotta have
sea creatures and a mix
of silver and

rattan.
In fact come summer,

I pull every rattan
piece we own…out of the cupboards and

put them on display! Out
come all of the seashells too…

and sea
fans…

love sea fans.
Family seaside photos add

a personal touch.
(Isn’t my sister, Carol,
cute in her two-piece!)

For convenience,
parked by the door, our
vintage French

oyster basket is loaded with
summer essentials:
buoy shaped

pillows, a
cozy throw and

extra
lighting.

I really love this summer
basket idea. On nice days,
I tote the basket outside and
set up camp.

Thought the rest of the room
could use a nautical touch and at
half-off…these

rattan chargers were
calling my name! They make a nice textural
tray. I love the square

shape and how they
look against the white plates.
When I found the ‘Mister’s’ vintage

book, ‘Treasure Island’ on
our shelves,
I couldn’t resist.

A bit campy, I know…
but that’s me :)
I plopped vintage french
stripes & rattan on

the kitchen island
and a little Cote Bastide

on our old pine island off the
dining room, pulling the look and
rooms together.
So, another section of our

home is summerized.
Now, if we could just get some

summer sun,
