The Reveal
Our wonderful new butler’s pantry cabinet
is finished and already in service!
The grand, yet humble piece, with flat door fronts
& a vintage industrial vibe,
now occupies one entire pantry wall.
It’s painted a rich Farrow and Ball gray,
called Down Pipe, with the interior…
of the display shelves, painted
French gray.
(Thank you Troy the Painter!!)
Do you like the simple,
see through mesh cabinet fronts,
set on point?
The mesh, reveals all of my pantry staple favorites.
Plus, it gives the piece, that vintage pie safe feel,
I was after!
The ‘wings,’ on either side,
are stepped back,
to provide easy clearance
in and out of the room.
And, they give the design, more interest
and a nice profile.
The slim cabinets are perfect for wine glasses..
(I finally unpacked one of my Christmas gifts!!)
and special spices,
I don’t use everyday.
The simple vintage style glass knobs & metal pulls
gleam against the rich gray.
And, the center section, is ready to roll away,
thanks to the casters,
(Sorry, hard to photograph)
if we need to get to the electrical panel on the wall.
And then there are those cool Cutlery Cubbies…
Love them!
They make setting the table so easy.
And, the silverware looks wonderful against the dark backdrop.
Still filling them…polishing as I go.
A small ledge, above the cubbies,
is the perfect resting place for a set of white
ramekins I often use for individual desserts.
And a larger ledge, out front, is great
for staging party goodies.
I’m taking my time filling the cabinets.
I may still put a touch of warm silver
on the edges to make the dark piece
a little more forgiving with all of the
wear & tear around here.
Have to say, I’m rather happy with our
little pantry addition.
A big thank you, to Pete & the guys,
for taking my vision and ‘sketches’
and turning them into something both
practical & beautiful.
It’s funny, it is as though, this piece,
has always been in our butler’s pantry.
I guess you call that, a good fit.
The butler …
(me)
will be pleased!
By the way…
We installed a few more pantry goodies,
plus, I spiffed the place up a bit.
A few fun ideas to share.
Show you soon.
Ciao,
Monica
