Holiday Cocktail Corner ~
I know we haven’t carved the turkey yet…
but it’s never too early
to start dreaming up a signature cocktail for your holiday guests!
I think I’ll call this one…
The Santa Baby.
And it’s dressed to the nines.
It’s a candy apple red libation with
a festive frosty trim and it tastes
as good as it looks.
And when it comes to cocktails,
you’ve gotta have a great garnish to go with.
This cute, cherry red maraschino number,
on a rosemary stem…is straight out of Moore’s,
‘T’was the night…’
Speaking of Cherries, I love this particular brand with
stems still attached. No red dye and
made with pure cane sugar.
(I’ll share the maker in a sec)
Let’s see, red suit, white trim, black boots, ‘nose like a cherry’.
Santa baby…
you’ve never looked so good :)

Here’s the recipe ~
1.5 ounces Vanilla Vodka
(I make my own…Scrape the seeds from one vanilla bean into
some good vodka, add pod and all and let it hang out)
1.5 ounces Pomegranate juice reduction.
(Simmer a cup of juice until it reduces by half or so)
1 ounce rosemary simple syrup
( 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water – simmer until dissolved then
drop in a rosemary sprig…and let it infuse the syrup for a few minutes)
Add ice to a cocktail shaker
Serve in a chilled glass, dipped in fresh lemon juice and rimmed in sugar.

Looks Delish! Xoxo, melaine
@ Melaine…too early :)
That looks so yum. We are hosting the hubby’s office Christmas Party and I would love to feature a signature drink. So Chic! We will have about 30+ people. What is the best way to “set-up” this drink? Self-serve?
Hi Gloria, thank you for visiting! Your party sounds like fun! So, I’ve done this, with and without a bartender. With, I would make up pitchers of the pomegranate reduction, vanilla Vodka and rosemary simple syrup. Prepare the rim and garnishes ahead and chill.
However…I’m offering this drink at my next, Girls Night In and it’s all self serve. I picked up very inexpensive, individual martini shakers. I’ll pre-measure all of the drinks and prepare the glass rim and garnishes ahead. All my guests have to do is add ice, shake and pour! Perhaps you can set up a fun Martini bar with ice and several shakers. Have the frosty martini glasses ready on trays and then pre-measure the drink ingredients in small bistro glasses. They can pour it all into the shaker add ice, give it a go and pour. Let me know!!
