Sometimes it’s the little things….Do you know what I mean?
For example, I’m crushing on this pretty glass wall pocket vase filled with
petite pink roses & chartreuse green Lady’s Mantle. {Vase – Haystack Antiques}
I placed the glass pocket just to the right of our white upper kitchen cabinets. Grandma’s
worn rolling pin rests below. The flowers give this small kitchen wall a wash of rosy pink
and a pretty little punctuation point.
Like I said, no big deal…just a small detail yielding a pretty sweet impact.

Speaking of DETAILS, here’s a look at a simple & inexpensive entertaining decor idea I
pulled together for our son’s high school graduation party ~ a PHOTO CHANDELIER!
{YES, hats off to the GRADUATE!!!}
For the party, I went Old School, pulling a bunch of fave pics from the
photo boxes and printing them up in B & W. I added gold photo corners, seals and
inexpensive tassels I picked up at the fabric store.
I hung the pics, in three tiers, from our dining room chandeliers.
It made for a nice display over the
buffet table. It’s a fun look that could be
gussied up or down. The photo chandelier would be FAB for
a bridal shower, birthday celebration or anniversary party!
The big graduation BASH is long over… but I’m having a hard time pulling down these cool snapshots of his life. I’m certain it’s symbolic. Our son will head off to college soon and we couldn’t be more excited for him as he begins this next life chapter. He even gets a chance to play college baseball! Gotta say though, this moment in time really tugs at the heartstrings :)
FRESH START
It’s a new beginning for me as well. I have been blessed to be at this mom thing for 18 years. If you are familiar with my story, you know I stepped away from a career in television news to pursue another passion, raising a family. I launched La Famiglia Design a few years ago and started to blog…knowing this day would come.
I really love this lifestyle business, from cooking & entertaining to garden and
home design! I live it, I dig it!
