With Father’s Day coming up….
the outdoor Summer Entertaining Season is really revving up! It’s
time to dine ~ in the garden!
So over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing tips and tricks to help YOU
keep your outdoor entertaining c o o l this summer! We begin with all natural mosquito repellents you
can pluck straight from your kitchen garden! Here’s the How-To.
Yes , I know all about citronella – but the fragrance is just too strong for me! It takes over!
Opt instead for strategically planted and potted rosemary, sage, lavender,
lemon balm and even basil in your garden.
While we LOVE to cook with these beauties, mosquitos aren’t
fans of the easy to grow garden herbs. Here’s how to use them.
I pulled together a few quick ideas on our outdoor island.
I transformed my NEW Crate and Barrel footed candle holders {LOVE} into naturally pretty pest repellents.
First tie cording or jute around the exterior of your candle holder.
Then tuck in sprigs of rosemary, lavender and sage.
For a pop of color I added slices of fresh lemon….plus, lemon is also a natural picnic
pest repellent, especially the peel.
Here’s tip No. 2 –
Create fragrant herb bundles at each place setting.
This is so easy. All you need is a little garden twine and fresh herbs. For added
mosquito protection, I included lemon balm in these bundles.
The bundles double as little guest takeaways – rosemary and sage are both great with
grilled chicken!
