Cozy up your Outdoor Rooms for Fall

On this crisp autumn day in the Pacific Northwest, I’m delighted to be taking my

morning cappuccino here in our courtyard by the

 bluestone fountain I designed. However, this Autumnal scene has me anything but blue!

Perhaps that is because our outdoor room is all dressed up for fall with a few simple

touches in unconventional autumn colors like blue, white and gray.

 Cool  blue and pristine white pumpkins are perched here 

and there.

I placed a bleached white antler, blue hydrangea and dusty miller swag on the

over-mantle, instead of the more typical fall wreath.

A cozy throw and rustic candle add warmth.

I don’t know about you but my  creativity is motivated by place  so

our outdoor room is the perfect place from which to

 dream up rousing fall party plans. The soothing sound of running water

gets the ideas flowing as I sit and enjoy my home office for the day.
