Unwrapping


They arrived,

cocooned,

in mounds of Styrofoam,



and mummified,

in four layers

of paper & tape.


For two hours,

I carefully peeled back the layers

of yesterday’s Italian news,

to find,

the delicate,



pieces of gorgeous,

Venetian glass.



My heart skipped a beat for a second,

when I unwrapped this piece.

until, I remembered ,

it is a wall mounted sconce!

Here are the wrapping remnants,

from one sconce alone!

I was relieved to find,

they all arrived


beautifully intact.

Assembly required!

Hope to have them mounted,

in our Master

by the end of the week.
