What’s NOT to l o v e about s’mores!
That good old-fashioned, gooey marshmallow and chocolate
with the crunch of graham combo…is an all-American favorite!
They are a gone camping Memorial weekend dessert staple.
But even if you’re NOT camped around the fire on Memorial Day, you can still indulge in
all that soft and sticky fun – minus the fire.
Okay, I’ve turned up the taste and WOW factor a bit with these
s’mores in a mason jar! I’ve added a salty-sweet note with my
handmade vanilla bean salt.
{It’s SO easy! Combine Fleur de Sel + vanilla beans scraped from the pod. Let the
combo hang out for a bit. That’s it. Great on ice cream too! }
I added even more crunch with a smattering of chopped walnuts. AND once the jars had COOLED,
I couldn’t resist dressing them up with torn remnants of patriotic fabric and cute fans on wooden picks.
I have ISSUES.
What I like about this approach is that you can pre-load the mason jars and bake them off
as needed! No campfire necessary.
You’ll need:
4 mini mason jars
5 graham crackers
2 Tablespoons melted butter
3 ounces good chocolate chopped
12 marshmallows
1/4th cup chopped nuts
vanilla bean salt
Pulse the Graham Crackers in a food processor until they are a fine consistency then
add the melted butter. Pulse until combined.
Divide all the ingredients among the jars and start layering!
First with the graham crackers, then the chopped chocolate
topped with the marshmallows, nuts and a smattering of vanilla bean salt.
Bake the jars on a tray in a 375 degree oven for approximately 5 minutes until
the marshmallows and chocolate JUST
begin to melt. Run under the broiler for 30 seconds or so until the marshmallows get
golden brown.
Pull the tray out of the oven to cool. The combo will continue to melt.
Once cooled down, dress up the jars with torn
pieces of fabric and patriotic picks. {PICKS Metropolitan Market}
Serve on a small plate as the glass will remain warm.
YUM!
