It all started with this little Nespresso espresso maker and thoughts of enjoying
a first morning cup of coffee without ever leaving the bedroom. Kinda like the
amenities you might find in a nice hotel room….only AT HOME!
I kept thinking…
master retreat! Well, one thing led to another and I started dreaming up a design for a master
bedroom beverage bar. A small niche, in the master entry was the perfect spot!
The beverage bar would need refrigeration, for bottled water, sparkling water,
‘BUBBLES’ and cream for our coffee.
It would need shelves for pretty glassware and spirits.
I had my mind set on a gorgeous shade of gray and a few lovely design details.
FINALLY, install day came! The craftsmen from Contemporary Woodesign Inc. got to work. (Thank you!)
And here is our master bedroom beverage bar reveal!
.
I kept the design simple and classic with a few pretty extras: corbels and fluting ~ check.
I wanted this piece to look more like fine furniture and less like a kitchen cabinet.
To break things up, I added glass shelves for pretty glassware...
collecting the fluted blue, vintage champagne glasses and
and gold trimmed monastery glasses on my antiquing adventures.
{Love}
I gathered up some fun coffee & espresso cups just for the bedroom beverage bar.
And for now, pretty bottles of spirits occupy the upper glass shelf along with a
vintage ice bucket and vintage martini pitcher. I’m taking my sweet time
adding accessories & art but overall,
I want this space to feel classic, clean, uncluttered.
The wood fronted cabinet hides an amazing Fisher & Paykel cool drawer that can
go from refrigeration to freezer at the push of a button! Fab! I
stocked the drawer with beverage bar essentials.
Another drawer holds coffee capsules, linens, sugar and utensils.
I chose not to put a sink in this piece…for clean up because the space is tight
and there is a wet bar in the guest suite just down the hall.
Besides the coffee capsules make clean up a breeze!
Love the simple pulls and the cabinet’s soft gray color.
It’s a custom color, patterned after Farrow & Ball’s Pavilion Gray.
I like how it looks, playing off of our French blue bedroom accent wall, though it is not
easy to photograph with the lighting situation!
Next, I want to change out the carpet in the master and slip cover the sleigh bed…all in an effort to make
our master a cozy retreat with all the amenities!
Not gonna to lie, that first cup from our master bedroom beverage bar…
tasted sooo good!
Goodbye Starbucks…this is fabulous!
Monica what a fabulous idea! I also love the idea of a little evening cocktail while reading in bed!
@PrinceSnowFarm Now that’s a nice idea! Like your style!
Monica
@Dana Thank you :)
Love your beautiful beverage bar. Talk about “hit the ground running” in the morning. Love the refrigeration drawer as well. Genius, Monica.
Gorgeous! The cabinetry work is amazing, and I love that concealed fridge drawer – very clever. Hope you are enjoying your new coffee / beverage bar :) xo, Loi
