Petite Garden Delights


I had forgotten I had even planted them.

So, the petite,

Yet, wildly vibrant violet colored flowers,

with their pretty heart shaped leaves

and heady scent…

Took me by surprise!

It takes quite a lot of them,

to make even the tiniest of bouquets.

But tucked into the perfect

antique glass & filigree vial;

spilling over the edge like a pretty prom dress flounce…

They are quite mesmerizing!

I can see why the ancients used violets in their love potions

and why the French turn them into fragrant syrups.

Sweet Violets…
