Do you smoothie?
Everywhere I go, people are talking about the
benefits of smoothies. Breakfast
smoothies, detox smoothies, builder smoothies…
so now, I’ve jumped on the smoothie bandwagon too with
the Wild Huckleberry Smoothie!
It’s a yummy & low cal, detox smoothie,
packed with protein & antioxidants. It’s my breakfast and/or
snack time…’go to’ small meal in a glass.
AND the wild huckleberries take me back to my childhood. We used to pick
and eat them by the handfuls! Plus, huckleberries are loaded with
nutrients and only about 40 calories in 1/2 a cup!
I get them in the frozen food section of
my local market. My little smoothie also calls for coconut water,
20 calories worth. Love coconut water for it’s detox qualities
and it is considered by some to be a superfood in itself.
Speaking of superfoods…
I add a handful of baby spinach leaves into the
mix…perhaps the biggest superfood big shot of them all!
Already, I’ve hit the health food trifecta here!
But there is more…
Greek yogurt, gives this smoothie some
beautiful body, at only 80
calories and a drizzle of honey makes it extra yummy…
I like it sweet :)
Whizz it all together and pour into a
pretty little glass…
and you have
a gorgeous glass of goodness at under 170 calories.

Wild Huckleberry Smoothie Recipe :
1 small container of Greek yogurt
1/2 cup of frozen wild huckleberries
1/2 cup coconut water
1 handful of baby spinach leaves washed
a drizzle of honey
Whizz it all together in a blender and
enjoy!
Maybe for some the striped straw, silver platter and fun huckleberry pink napkin are optional, but for US they’re MANDATORY!!
