Master Makeover Continued…
Technically,
it’s a writing desk,
this gracefully arched,
scrolled iron and warm wood piece,
which sits in a corner of our master bedroom.
But I use my portable,
Correspondence Carrier,
for writing letters.
(It’s actually, an old garden center crate, go figure?)
So, I thought it would be wonderful,
to transform this piece,
into an inspiration desk.
A place, to get lost, in my favorite
decor books and magazines.
I started,
by pulling together what I love,
what inspire me…
family ~ a photograph
color ~ what is it about this blue
I am so crazy about?
Music ~ a family tradition,
that began in my childhood,
& some pretty tools for
clipping,
my favorite pencils
for marking,
and a tiny bouquet,
that plays right into
my passion for gardening.
There is something so sweet,
about, Lily of the Valley, non?
And other pretties.
As for the books,
I found this inexpensive gray basket,
(World Market)
with a wonderful, raw fabric lining,
to hold my inspiration books of the moment.
Love the gray & texture.
Surrounded by so many
‘of my favorite things’
how can I not be inspired?
Do you have an inspiration desk?
Would love to know.
One last thing,
Perfect.
Do you love the fluted glass,
French milk cups?
I’ll have more about that later.
And, every inspiration desk,
needs a great chair, right?
Another project,
with a French Flair,
to share,
soon!
Ciao,
Monica
I’ve been looking for a desk just like the one you depicted. Can you tell me where you got it?
Hi Megan,
We picked up this desk years ago, at the Macy’s clearance center!
It is made by Lane. I hope this helps!
